with any information need. Whether you need a single fact or lengthy
research consultation, the staff is available during most
hours which the library is open.

The Reference area is on the 2nd floor of the main library building.
This area includes the main Reference Collection, Theology, and Government Documents.

Special Collection
Special Collection houses original as well as
secondary genealogical and historical materials. The collection
contains information primarily concerning Alabama and the
Southeastern United States. However, the archive also maintains
an Irish Historical Collection focusing primarily on the
counties Cork and Kerry. Other materials housed in the collection include,
family histories, Baptist materials, congregational and
regional records, maps, local historical and genealogical
periodicals, newspapers, census records, and various audio visuals.
The Special Collection department also serves as the archive
for Samford University and Howard College.
The Special Collection department is located on the
lower level
of the Samford University Library and is open to the public
Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Check the library's
hours for special
closings. SC material is restricted to use
within the collection.
